Scripture Text:
(click to open in a new window)Isaiah 14:24 – 27
1. The taunt song against Babylon (Isaiah 14:4 – 21) is applied to Judah’s immediate enemy, Assyria (of which Babylon is the capital city). What aspects of Babylon’s judgment will be validated by Assyria’s overthrow (see Isaiah 10:5 – 34)?
2. What qualities of God are stressed in these 4 verses? How does God’s planning and counsel stand over “the whole world”?
3. In view of this, how should Israel respond to God? How should the world? How then should you?
